I LOVE BOOKS! and why I'm called Bollar...

I love reading, in the bath, before bed, on the train etc. And not those namby pamby ebook readers. Proper books with pages, pretty covers and that lovely book smell.

Plus you can't read an e book in the bath, unless you are very lucky and not a clumsy person (which I am not)

I read 2-3 books a week. My all time favourite author has to be Harlan Coben. I was introduced to him by someone I went to school with. She leant me his book Gone For Good...and I was hooked.

I then discovered his character Myron Bolitar...and I fell in love. (with both Myron and Win)

Now these are crime thriller books, bit of mystery, drama, fighting, a bit of love sometimes thrown in. I absolutely adore all the plot twists and turns and could quite happily sit and read them for hours and hours and not even notice the time slipping by.

I own everything single book of his....bar this one

After reitring the Myron series (much to my avid disapointment) he has passed the torch onto Myron's nephew Mickey.

I'm curious to see how it plays out, which is why I'm hesistant in buying it. But hopefully I will pluck up the courage to lay my hero to rest and dive straight in.

I am also a HUGE fan of girlie chick lit books!!

My favourite authors for these are:

Sophie Kinsella
Marian Keyes
Fiona Walker
Emma Burgess

There are many mant more but I can't think of them off the top of my head!!

I must say when it comes to my chick lit (and I'm a little ashamed to admit this) I do judge a book by its cover...:O sorry but it's true...I often go for the brightly coloured, shiny, happy looking ones. The reason for this is because the stories always tend to have happy endings and are really great for a pick me up.

The great thing about reading is you can totally absorb yourself into this make believe world and escape reality for a little bit if its getting you down. The characters, the scene, the decor is all exactly how you want it to be because you can imagine everything :)

Other book I love:

The entire Jane Austin collection- I have a couple of well thumbed through paperbacks, but I was given a gorgeous hardback edition of the entire collection for Christmas, which is truly beautiful.

All of the Harry Potter books- yes...I love Harry Potter. The books are wonderful, I started reading them when I was 11 or 12 and had to carry on. And I do admitt to queing up at midnight for the last one, getting home and reading until 4am non-stop! I do not however appreciate the films, I understand the need for some artistic licence to but change entire things and leave out characters is just not on. I really look forward to reading these to my daughter when she gets a bit older too!

Twilight series - another one I should probably be slightly ashamed of! But I did love the books. And the films were pretty good too!

I could go on and on. My love for books and reading knows no bounds. But you'll all probably be asleep. Unless of course you too love books :)

Just a little more insight into my world there!

p.s The reason my nickname is Bollar. It first started when I met my friend Natalie, and she for some unknown reason, turned round one day and called me Lozbollar. From there everyone decided to shorten that further to Bollar. Not an amazingly interesting story but there you go. It also apparently means stomach in welsh??
