Happy Valentines Day!!!

Helllooooo Wonderfuls!!!!

Hope all the men in your life have treated you to a lovely day!! Although I am firm believer that they should do it 365 days of the year and not just one...tehe!!!

I do love the history behind valentines day though....I'll give you a brief run of the main points if you don't know....

It's apparently (although it might not be solid fact...) that St Valentine was a priest in ancient roman times that preformed the secret marriages of soldiers (who Claudius II had decreed should remain single as married men did not make good soldiers)

However he was found out and imprisoned, on the evening of his execution wrote the first 'valentines' card, signed from your valentine.

And so (again apparently) the tradition began.....

Reading all your lovely blogs out there I see a lot of people are doing a Valentines Look! So I've decided to jump on the band waggon and create one of my own :)

I've not gone down the traditional romantic route....I've decided to go for a look for someone that doesn't care its valentines day and just wants to go out and have fun!!

To create this look.... I've used Wake Me Up foundation in soft beige by Rimmel London, my eyeko eyeliner from my Glossybox in midnight blue and Maybelline Mono Eyestudio in Black Metal and Silver :) I've also added foundation to my lips to make them nice and neutral to make the eyes pop out even more.

I've tried to punk up my hair a little... and make it messy :)

Hope you like!

Here are some close ups of my eyes.... one with flash...one without..

Update on Glossybox contents!

As I've just had a quick shower, I thought I'd take the chance to use my First Aid Beauty (I do love that it spells FAB) body moisturiser sample from my Glossybox.

I used it on my arms as they are a serious problem area for me, so I thought they'd be the best at putting it through its paces. They are extremely dry, especially after a hot shower in my hard water area and can sometimes be quite scaly (ew gross I know) But a couple of splodges of this and they look and feel great. It's sunk into my skin really well, which a lot of moisturisers don't, they tend to sit and leave a horrible residue.

I did comment earlier how I wasn't too keen on the smell, but on the skin it does smell differently which is good.

Overall I am very pleased and will definitely be investing in a proper bottle to tackle my scaly arms in the future!

GLOSSYBOX! January!

My GLOSSYBOX finally arrived today!!!

I am seriously impressed with it. Even the outer packaging is pretty.

I think I might have slightly freaked out my post lady, as I screamed and jumped up and down when I answered the door and saw this little beauty in her hand....

Moving on to the actual box and the contents!

Absolutely gorgeous I think you'll agree!! The presentation is perfect. I am a real sucker for packaging, as I've mentioned before, and this is packaging heaven!!!
I'm not usually a hoarder and I tend to throw away boxes and things, but there is no way I could possibly even throw away the black packaging, let alone the actual pink box (I LOVE pink, I'm sure I'll find a use for it somewhere!)

I have tested a few of the products already, so I'll give you a closer look at them and show you what I've done :)

So first we have the Clarins extra firming day and night creams. It not being night time...I haven't used the night time one yet.

So the day cream. Bliss. Pure bliss going onto my face. I've always loved Clarins face creams. I haven't been using them lately and after receiving this sample I have no idea why. So I will definitely be purchasing the bigger version! As I've only used it once I cant really comment on its firming abilities just yet, but after using it all up in a week or so ( a little goes a long way and it really soak itself into the skin) I hope to see a little improvement around the eyes perhaps!

So this gets a Bollars Brilliance score of 10/10!!!!

So moving onto to the Murad Skin perfecting primer...I don't tend to use primer all that often, but thought I'd give it a go. I do love the little pump action bottle it came in. Very cute indeed. The consistency was quite runny, and it glided onto my skin perfectly. As you can see from the swatch, I was a little worried it might be a tad dark. But as you can see its blended in perfectly and left my skin feeling really smooth. On a good skin day I'd definitely just wear this without bothering with with foundation. I've also used it on my face today as a base and its worked perfectly, my make up has really been given that extra staying power!

Ok next up! We have the First Aid Beauty body moisturiser!
I haven't actually used this one yet. I do really like the packaging :) but I'm not that keen on the smell..hoping it will smell a bit better once on the skin.

And finally...The Eyeko London skinny eyeliner, in midnight blue. Love, Love, LOVE this! Firstly the actual pencil itself is so stylish and pretty. It actually reminds me a little of 1920's cigarette holder. It glides onto the eyes really smoothly. I normally find that pencils can be a bit rough, even when sharpened all the time, but this was brilliant.
I do like the colour, a dark navy blue, but I have loved a black or dark olive green :)

Here it is in action as it were
I've gone for quite a heavy look, outlining the whole eye. For a night out I do like to use a lot of eyeliner :)

I also did my whole face using the moisturiser, primer and eyeliner. To complete my look I've also used Garnier daily all in one BB cream, Garnier anti-dark circles eye roll on (being a mum I don't get much sleep!) Maxfactor lash extension effect mascara in black and (my favourite) Sexy Mother Pucker by Soap&Glory in yummy plum!
Excuse my hair! Its in desperate need of a cut and colour!!

Another gorgeous little touch was the free sweetie!!!
Really cute idea and a personal touch to let your customers know you care. Love it. Unfortunately the sweetie itself has been long since demolished by my daughter!!

But as she is so scrummy and wonderful I'll let her get away with stealing it! Haha!

I'm Getting Married.....!

After giving notice at my local registry office on Thursday....my confirmation from Brighton came through today!!! My wedding date is officially booked!!

So that means I need to get a shift on with my invites....and here they are:

I made them all by myself! Our theme colours are gold and champagne.

I've got a couple more to make, and the inserts to print and then I can finally send them out.
I'm quite proud of them, especially my little RSVP cards.

They open out and have a little pocket to contain all the extra information.

Also MORE IMPORTANTLY I have to decide how to have my make up and hair!!!

Which means a chance to buy LOTS more products and testing them out and getting your lovely opinions :)

I really quite fancy having a striking red lip...but don't know if its appropriate for the big day. Any thoughts?

Hello lovely people!!

So as I told you it was my belated birthday celebrations on Wednesday night and I had planned to have a fire in the garden.....WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

It felt like below freezing even in my wonderfully warm fluffy coat. Also with the awful wind the logs just wouldn't stay alight....but despite all this I was determined to persevere.....I ended up with numb hands and some extremely burnt on the outside uncooked on the inside sausages.....

Imy and Jodie

This is the beginning of the night before I'd put my little one to bed, having a cuddle with her auntie Jodie :)
My devoted hubby to be lighting the fire...or at least lighting the kindling anyway!!

The fire, trying its hardest to get going!

Me posing in my big fluffy coat, my bag of logs going to waste in the corner :(

In the end we resorted to ordering from dominos!! The online 55555 deal...that's 5 awesome pizzas for £5.55 each! Woohoo!!

(although after consuming all that pizza I will definitely need to be hitting the zumba very hard this week)

and some silly ones of my and Jodie...as you can see I loved my hat a lot that night!

In other news I am still awaiting my glossybox after signing up on Tuesday this week. I cannot wait to get it!!

Who else gets glossybox and is it amazing??

p.s all that standing in the cold last night has seriously ruined my lips! I've been using aloe vera Vaseline today but its just not cutting it. Anyone have any recommendations???
